On May 22, 2010, the first recorded purchase in history made with Bitcoin, by Laszlo Hanyecz, took place: 10,000 bitcoins were offered in exchange for two pizzas. We should all be grateful to him, as he made Satoshi Nakamoto’s project a reality. It doesn’t matter how much BTC has increased in value since then, because that’s what it was born for, and we should all be a little more aware of it.
